In this introduction to the Latin language, reading ability
in the language is emphasized. About two-thirds of the
introductory textbook will be covered. (Halfway through the
second term we will begin reading a Latin novel.) This
course is intended for those with little or no previous
experience in Latin; those with an extensive background in
high school Latin should consult the instructor about
whether they should begin their college Latin with 101, 102
or 201.
