This course makes a systematic, comparative analysis of the
causes, patterns and consequences of revolutionary
activities in France, examining the revolutions of 1789,
1830, 1848 and 1870. The course will emphasize revolutionary
movement organizations, political and social goals, ideology
and industrialization.
