This course examines the evolution of the mathematical,
physical and natural sciences as an aspect of human culture.
The presentation is designed for students interested in
history and the humanities as well as those in science. This
course emphasizes Greek science, medieval science and the
Scientific Revolution.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
This course is basically a
survey course involving lectures, with time available in
each lecture period for questions and discussion. There are
two midterm examinations. One paper of an essay nature will
be due at the end of term.
