Women in Political Thought

This course analyzes women's relation to nature, culture and
politics in western political thought. What are women's
capacities for freedom, power, care, and citizenship, and
how do women uphold, subvert or transform the political
community? Readings from classical, renaissance and modern
times are included.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
One short paper and class
presentation, based on the reading for class; one term paper
(15 to 20 pages) on a topic of your choosing.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting
or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the
first class, they will be dropped from the class list.
NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form
to the Registrar's Office.
