This intensive writing course focuses on the ethnic/immigrant memoir genre. Students will be asked to use family stories and personal memories to produce a memoir(s) that explore the personal dimensions of history and the historical dimensions of the personal. Besides in-class writing, we will also discuss examples of the immigrant/ethnic memoir genre.

Extensive writing and rewriting on a weekly basis. A final writing project.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
