This is a majors course designed to examine, in detail, the
characteristics that make Long Island Sound one of the
nation's most important estuaries. Equal attention will be
paid to the historical, physical, geological, chemical, and
biological facets of the Sound. Some attention will also be
paid to the anthropogenic factors that interact with the
basic dynamics of the Sound to give us the present state of
the Long Island Sound.

Unless
preregistered students attend the first class meeting or
communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first
class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE:
