Environmental Geology

The emphasis of this course will be on the interaction of
man and the geologic environment. Natural hazards such as
floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, landslides and
human-induced hazards relating to geologic and hydrologic
systems are the major topics. The geologic effects and
consequences of land development will be discussed as well
as land-use planning from a geological perspective.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Two hour exams and final
examinations.

Unless
preregistered students attend the first class meeting or
communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first
class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE:
Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the
Registrar's Office.
Students enrolled in E&ES111 must also be enrolled in this
course.
