This course offers an introduction to accounting and business decisions: balance sheets, income statements and sources and uses of funds; capital budgeting; cost of capital; the link between accounting records and economic analysis. Emphasis is placed on the uses of present value techniques.

Econ 249 is not open to students who have taken Econ 243 in the Fall 1998 semester, except by permission of instructor. Unless preregistered students attend the first class or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
