A one-semester introduction to macroeconomic analysis. The
course will focus on how resources are utilized in a market
economy. Topics will include inflation, unemployment,
productivity growth, and the way in which monetary and
fiscal policies influence the pace of economic activity and
the international balance of payments.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Section 1: Regular problem
sets, one midterm exam and a final examination as scheduled
by the Registrar.
Section 2: A term paper and a final examination as scheduled
by the Registrar.
Section 3: One mid-term examination, a final examination
as scheduled by the Registrar, and regular problem sets.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
A working
knowledge of elementary high school algebra as established
by passing the mathematics placement examination given to
all freshmen, by completing MATH107 or any higher number
course offered by the Wesleyan Mathematics Department or by
obtaining advanced placement in calculus.
Sec. 02: No late problem sets; no unexcused absences
Sec. 03: No late problem sets. All exams must be taken at
the regularly scheduled time.
Sections 1, 2, 3: Unless preregistered students attend the
first class meeting or communicate directly with the
instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped
from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a
completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
Please note that if you do not match one of the prerequisite
listings EXACTLY, then you need a prerequisite override.
