American Dance History DANC375 FA

This course presents structuralist survey of approaches to western concert dance from the middle ages to the present. Particular emphasis is placed on the orientation to dance of various choreographers--how dance is conceived, how it should be presented, the nature of the choreographer's role. Projects both written and choreographed are required.
