This course presents structuralist survey of approaches to
western concert dance from the middle ages to the present.
Particular emphasis is placed on the orientation to dance of
various choreographers--how dance is conceived, how it
should be presented, the nature of the choreographer's role.
Projects both written and choreographed are required.
