An introduction to dance as an educational, technical and
creative discipline. Classes will introduce dance
technique--stretching, strengthening, aligning the body and
developing coordination in the execution of rhythmic
movement patterns--as well as improvisation, composition and
performance. This course is for students with no previous
dance training. This course differs from DANC109 and
DANC110 only in that it is a one semester course.

Short papers, movement
projects, discussion groups, participation in Introduction
to Dance Concert and attendance at two dance concerts.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Unless
preregistered students attend the first class meeting or
communicate with the instructor prior to the first class
they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students
must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the
Registrar's Office.
