Pascal and Dostoevsky

Two of the greatest Christian writers of modern times,
Pascal and Dostoevsky, were also two of the greatest
explorers of human psychology. Major works of both writers
will be read and discussed with emphasis on their
psychological and social analyses as well as on their
philosophical and religious thought. The influence of Pascal
on Dostoevsky will also be examined.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
No exams. Two short and one
longer paper.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Some knowledge of
philosophy is desirable.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting
or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the
first class, they will be dropped from the class list.
NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form
to the Registrar's Office.
