Italian Art of the 14th Century

A study of painting, sculpture and architecture in the major Italian city-states from circa 1250 to 1400. This class will pay articular attention to the parallel developments of the late gothic style and an evolving naturalism. Style will be discussed as a reflection and definer of social and political forces in the society.
