This course will review, analyze, and critique the major
works in Afro-American history with special emphasis on
histories by black authors, books published in the past
decades, and books in current intellectual debate.
A thorough grounding in Afro-American history is required.

historiographical essay.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE:
Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the
