A course in evaluation, selection and preparation of play
texts for production. Scripts chosen for analysis give a
foundation in genres, production styles and significant
historical periods. This is a prerequisite to Directing
I. Students demonstrate their script analyses in class
presentations of their directing, writing, designing or
acting.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Submission of fully written
analyses and sample production books for play scenes and one
full-length play, supplemented by reading and play-viewing
assignments. Midterm and final examinations.
