The course will survey representative authors of 20th-century Spain to introduce the student to the general trends of modern Spanish literature and civilization. Historical and philosophical approaches will be used to treat such themes as the evolution of ideas in modern Spain, the interplay between politics and the arts and the divergencies of Spanish culture. (All readings, discussions and papers are in ENGLISH.)
