This course extends the materials used in Improvisation I
involving vocabulary as well as notated material to be used
in improvising and composition. The class will seek to
emphasize the inter-relations between improvisational and
structural devices from post Ayler continuum of African
American Music.
MAJOR READINGS
Students will be asked to use COMPOSITION
NOTES, book 1-5, as part of their resource materials for
the course.

Attendance required
to all classes.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class
meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to
the first class, they will be dropped from the class list.
