Computers in Music

A survey of varying approaches to the use of computers in
music composition and analysis. The course will include
'hands on' work with a digital sound editing workstation and
various software packages for synthesis, sequencing, and
realtime performance. Class work includes the realization
of weekly 'one minute projects' and three major projects
which may either be papers or compositions.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
There are two examinations
covering the contents of ELECTRONIC MUSIC. Three major
projects must also be completed.

by interview
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting
or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the
first class, they will be dropped from the class list.
NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form
to the Registrar's Office.
