A course in the algebra of n-dimensional space Rn with emphasis on the concrete and geometric. Covers vectors and matrices, systems of linear equations and subspaces of Rn associated with them, determinants, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, questions of orthogonality. Applications to topics such as least squares approximations, Markov matrices, positive definite matrices as time permits. For a more conceptual treatment of n-dimensional space see MATH223, Linear Algebra.
