Agrarian Capitalism in the United States

This course explores the transition wrought by the advent of
industrial capitalism on the 19th century American
countryside. Its major objective is to situate this process
within unfolding global socio-economic forces in order to
challenge the notion of America exceptionalism.

communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first
class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE:
