Interpreting the American West: Immigration, Migration & Ethnicity in the Region

An exploration of ways to frame the American West that
challenges the Turnerian concept of the frontier as the
West's defining characteristic. Particular attention to
ecology, cultural encounters and hybridizations, visual and
narrative accounts, women, markets and community, ethnic
diversity, and the city.
