History 254 continues from but does not presuppose History 253. The course emphasizes scientific developments from the Scientific Revolution of the 17th-century to the Quantum Revolution in 20th-century physics.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

This course is basically a survey course involving lectures, with time available in each lecture period for questions and discussion. There is one midterm examination and a final examination. One paper of an essay nature will be due.
