Study of the comparatively recent genre of the radio play,
which in Germany is as serious an art form as the stage play
or the film. Attention will be given to postwar conditions
that made this genre especially important as a vehicle of
artistic expression.
MAJOR READINGS
Between 15 and 20 plays, to be announced
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
About 3 short papers (5 pages)
and 1 longer paper (8-10 pages).
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Regular
participation in class discussion required, also regular
listening to radio plays in the Language Laboratory.
