Writing for the screen, with emphasis on how the camera
tells stories. An examination of format, narrative and
dialog from treatment through completed script.
MAJOR READINGS
Materials for the course include screenplays
by established professionals and student work written during
the term.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Students will be expected to
write every week, with all written work completed by the
last day of classes.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Admission to class
on the basis of sample written work plus instructor
interview IN THE WEEK BEFORE THE COMPUTERS OPEN FOR THE
FIRST DAY OF REGISTRATION. Sophomores and juniors preferred.
Limited to twelve. Students wil prior film courses
preferred.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting
or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the
first class, they will be dropped from the class list.
NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form
to the Registrar's Office.
