This course is designed to give students a basic factual background of the Japanese Economy and an understanding of some current economic issues. The major objective is to present students with an overall "big picture" of the Japanese economy. Some of the issues that will be addressed include rapid economic growth, export led growth, industrial policy, international trade, saving, and Japanese industrial structure. The economic models involve the use of some calculus.
