Regulation and Deregulation in the U.S. Economy ECON223 SP

This course covers the recent experience in the microeconomic regulation of the U.S., covering the deregulation in various industries and the changes in regulation in other industries. Attention will focus on the following industries as examples of regulation and deregulation: airline transport, trucking, tele- communications, banking, savings and loans, medicine and health, safety, and securities and investment banking.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Exams, quizzes, class discussion and reports, term paper, final exam.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
