Modern Dance I

An elementary modern dance class with an emphasis on
anatomically efficient movement and energy projection.
Students will develop strength, endurance, joint mobility
and technical awareness through working with dance
techniques, rhythmic combinations, improvisation and
composition. This course will include biweekly workout
sessions with a partner, readings, written assignments and
student discussion groups.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Biweekly partner
practice/discussion sessions with written reports. Two
group discussion meetings on readings with short writing
assignments. Attendance at three dance concerts.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
May be repeated for
credit with a different instructor with the permission of
the instructor.
This is an ampersand course with DANC210.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting
or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the
first class, they will be dropped from the class list.
NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form
to the Registrar's Office.
