Photo Caption and Credits

For the first semester the course will take a historical look at jazz movement; the early elements and development of jazz dance and how it coincides with the music of jazz and the life conditions of the Afro-American people. The three general areas to be covered are 1) traditional African elements 2) plantation dance of release and relief 3) early post slavery dance favorites.

Participation in intro dance concert. Written final exam.
