This course provides an introduction to the major mathematical topics underlying picture processing, representation, and understanding. These include digital geometry, windowing and clipping, automata for recognizing objects, shading curves, 3-dimensional objects, and data structures for pictures. The course will also discuss several computer graphics systems and a variety of applications programs.
