An introduction to modern concepts of atomic and molecular quantum mechanics, molecular orbital theory and the chemical bond. Numerical calculations and qualitative concepts of molecular electronic structure, survey of commonly used approximations in many electron calculations on atomic and molecular systems. A survey course for first year chemistry graduate students, required for the Ph.D.
