Photo Caption and Credits
This course covers the fundamental properties of our own
Milky Way galaxy and its constellations, including various
stellar populations and the interstellar medium. Particular
attention will be paid to galactic structure, stellar
kinematics and dynamics, and galactic chemical evolution.
MAJOR READINGS
One or two textbooks.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Weekly problem sets, mid-term
and final exams.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
ASTR155 or the
equivalent is necessary to take this course.
