The fundamentals of letter forms, typographic design, elements of the book and contemporary graphic design are considered through a progression of theoretical and practical problems. Once working knowledge of the typeshop is acquired, each student conceives, designs and prints a book.

Successful completion of exercises and projects.

Course fee: $70.00. Interview with instructor. Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
