A history of drama and theater, with examples from classical
Greek and Roman, Asian, medieval, Renaissance and
seventeenth century Baroque theater. Play texts chosen
from ancient classical drama, Japanese, Indian, and Chinese
drama, medieval mysteries and moralities, Italian
Renaissance, English Elizabethan and Jacobean, Spanish
Golden Age and French neo-classical dramatic history.
MAJOR READINGS
History text, essays, and representative
