SPAN257
Texts and Nations in the Latin American Postcolonial Scene
SPAN257 FA
Next Offered in 9798 FA
The purpose of this seminar is to raise questions about the
concepts we use, about modes of criticism and about literary
history in a more explicit way. For 1993 we will examine
the ways in which texts produce the idea of the nation after
independence, the contradictions of the postcolonial
predicament, and the ways in which essays, novels and poems
construct the field of meanings and symbols associated with
national life.
