Contemporary Sociological Theory

This course will critically examine the writings of some
of the major theorists whose views have influenced modern
sociological thought. Included will be readings on Marx,
Weber, Durkheim, Bell, Fox-Genovese, Steinberg, Wallerstein
and Wilson among others.

Three take-home essays (8-10
pages each).

Students who do
not have SOC151 may enroll with permission of the
instructor.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting
or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the
first class, they will be dropped from the class list.
NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form
to the Registrar's Office.
