This First-Year-Initiative seminar will introduce the
methods and scholarship that anthropologists bring to the
study of Judaism. Some supervised fieldwork, along with
readings dealing with Jewish rituals, praying communities,
and traditional forms of learning, will provide students
with an understanding of the social dimensions of religion.

Unless
preregistered students attend the first class meeting or
communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first
class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE:
Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the
Registrar's Office.
