Through essays, novels, videos and film we will explore the
intersection of culture, ideology and psychology. We will
examine how gender, ethnicity and class are interwoven in
the social fabric and individual identity. Employing
feminist, psychoanalytic, and deconstructive interpretive
methods we will try to decipher the many ways we inscribe
ourselves in culture.

This is a core
course in Social Psychology.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting
or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the
first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE:
Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the
