This course provides an overview of classic and contemporary research in social psychology. A wide range of topics will be covered, including prejudice, conformity, obedience, romantic attraction, decision making, and conflict resolution. The lectures will focus largely on the results of experimental research and will be supplemented with several videotapes and class demonstrations.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Four fixed-format examinations involving a mixture of multiple-choice, true-false, and fill-in-the-blank items.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

This is a core course in Social Psychology. Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
