Research Methods and Techniques in Perception

This course will review the major experimental methods and techniques as a means of studying perception and attention. The topics will include Psychophysics, Signal Detection Theory, Spatial Frequency Analysis, research design, hypothesis, hypothesis testing, data analysis, and how to write a report. Students will be introduced to the use of computers as a research tool and given an opportunity to develop a project of their interests.

MAJOR READINGS

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

One or two presentations and a project report.
