Research Methods and Techniques in Personality

We will compare and evaluate methods for studying personality "at a distance," including content analysis, expert rating, assesment of beliefs on "operational codes," and social planning assesments. Particular attention will be paid to validity and reliability, and comparison to more traditional methods.

MAJOR READINGS

Selected journal articles and book chapters.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Short exercises, a midterm exam, and a final research paper.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

PSYC201 is useful but not mandatory as a prerequsite.
