An introduction to the problems and methods of musical scholarship, surveying and applying past and present approaches for the study of the creation, performance analysis and transmission of music in different cultural settings.

MAJOR READINGS

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

One research paper required; individual reports weekly.
