Erhu (two string fiddle) is one of the most popular traditional Chinese instruments. Qin (seven string zither) is the representative of Chinese classical instrument. Students can choose either one of these instruments and take private instruction, but are all expected to participate in a Chinese percussion ensemble and lectures on INTRODUCTION TO TRADITIONAL CHINESE INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Compositions and/or exercises are presented orally or in notation. Through practices students master the assignments from one lesson to the next.
