Instruction in the performance of orchestral music of
Central Java. Various levels of difficulty are represented
in the playing techniques of different instruments, mainly
tuned gongs and metallophones. Previous formal music
instruction is not necessary. Students should not
preregister for this course. Interested students should
attend the first class with a Drop/Add slip.

Listening assignments,
recital and a short paper.

Admission by
interview at the first class in World Music Hall.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class
meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to
the first class, they will be dropped from the class list.
NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form
to the Registrar's Office.
