The Ebony Singers study all types of music with special
emphasis on black music through the medium of performance.
The areas of study will consist of classical, folk, pop,
gospel, spirituals and contemporary music. The members of
the group are chosen through a rigorous audition process.
MAJOR READINGS
The scores of the music performed are to be
studied and memorized.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Singing test; listening
skills are often assessed.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Students are
required to perform in all performances.
Students must audition and be accepted as a part of the
ensemble. Auditions will take place at the first class from
7:30 - 10:30 p.m., 003 Rehearsal Hall. Participants must
have a quality voice, a melodic vocal sound and the ability
to read music.
There is no preregistration for this class. Interested
students should attend the audition at the first class.
