Intermediate Harmony and Tonal Counterpoint

Students will learn chromatic four-part writing and
three-voice tonal counterpoint and apply their knowledge
to a study of selected compositions. Practice in ear
training and sight skills will continute.
MAJOR READINGS
To be announced.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Assignments will include
chorale harmonization, a three-voice invention, and analysis
of selected passages from 19th century composition.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Unless
preregistered students attend the first class meeting or
communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first
class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE:
Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the
Registrar's Office.
