This graduate seminar course will attempt to give some insight into the ways that eukaryotic cells regulate gene expression. The emphasis will be on transcriptional control and the role of transcription factors. Although the focus will be on original research papers and on the experimental approaches that are used, an attempt to formulate some generalization will be made. The course will begin the first week of the semester and end Thursday, October 19. Upper level undergraduates with a strong background in molecular biology may enroll in this course with the permission of the instructor.
