The PHAEDRA of Seneca and selections from the METAMORPHOSES of Ovid will be read in Latin, with special attention to the literary treatment of myth. The course will include an introduction to Latin meter.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Three in-class tests in language and three short papers on literary topics. Reading assignments (in Latin) for each class.
