An introduction to the Latin language. The course emphasizes reading ability in the language and will cover about two-thirds of the introductory textbook (halfway through the second term we will begin reading a Latin novel). Intended for those with little or no previous experience in Latin; those with an extensive background in high school Latin should consult the instructor about whether they should begin their college Latin with 101, 102 or 201.
