Touchstones of Western Values

This course explores key issues, concepts, values and images
from the ancient Greek, Roman and Judaeo-Christian
traditions. The course is interdisciplinary in nature,
emphasizes class discussion and provides ample opportunity
for writing. The reading list includes literary, religious,
historical and philosophical texts entailing considerable
reading. Instructors may raise questions about dominant
cultures.

Several papers of 5-7 pages,
and a take-home final examination.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Unless
preregistered students attend the first class meeting
or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the
first class they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE:
Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the
Registrar's Office.
