Women in World Politics
GOVT332 FA
Next Offered in 9798 FA
This course addresses two questions: where are the women in
world politics and would our understanding of international
relations change if we incorporated feminist methodologies?
We will consider how global politics structure women's lives
and how women participate in and respond to international
relations. We will also explore a variety of tools that
feminist scholars can use to study gender issues. Among the
topics we will cover are: feminist theories of international
relations, women and war, gender in the foreign
policy-making process, women in the world economy, and
women's rights as human rights.
